At GHSD – Golden Hands of Sand Dumes Org, our work spans across diverse yet interconnected sectors to create lasting impact. We focus on Education, Health, Livelihood, Agriculture, Natural Resources Management, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Water & Sanitation.
Strategy

Our Strategic Direction

Communities of the Nara live in a natural environment. Women have craft skills but lack access to markets. Men depend on oil exploration companies rather than diversifying their livelihoods. Youth are deprived of skill-building opportunities. This is due to limited public and private sector initiatives in SMEs, infrastructure, agricultural innovation, and education.

We realized these communities have great potential in terms of natural resources and skills. With proper networking and capacity building, they can be empowered towards sustainable development.

Education Impact

Achieve a 40% increase in enrollment, retention, and completion of primary and high schools from baseline levels.

Income Generation

Increase women's income by 70% and men's income by 40% through livelihood models, skill development, and market linkages.

Natural Resources

Protect and promote natural resources of the Nara belt, including indigo cropping.

Health Support

Support the Health Department, Government of Sindh, to reduce maternal and infant morbidity and mortality rates.

Disaster Resilience

Build community resilience through training in disaster risk reduction.
